American roulette was derived from classic French roulette, invented by the French physicist Blaise Pascal in the 17th century. It was brought to America by immigrants and in the 19th century it was modified to the fast way of life - adding a double zero. Gradually an American version of roulette developed with great pace - i.e. even more advantageous for the casino.
As opposed to the European version, American roulette has 38 numbers, 18 red, 18 black and two green fields with zeros: 0 and 00. There is also a difference in the arrangement of the numbers on the wheel. The betting principle is the same in both types.
